Two towers

The philosophy

Our philosophy has always been to create architecture in interaction with nature. Two new units are now being built, designed by architect Snorre Stinessen, that represent the most innovative architecture at Manshausen so far. With full glass roofs, we have now also included the sky, and opened up to the northern light and the midnight sun.

A unique experience

The buildings are shaped like two towers. We have chosen to call them Amundsen and Nansen after our two great explorers. They are located on the edge of the old stone pier and with an unbroken view to the sea and the mountains. They are being built in solid wood, will be clad with burnt larch, and the back will be covered with solar panels.

First floor

Each tower has two floors. The first floor will have a comfortable seating area with a glass front facing the sea, a fully equipped bathroom, coffee machine, bookshelf, storage space and a separate guest bed under the stairs.

Second floor

The second floor will have a double bed, full glass roof and front, a small pull-out desk with chair, and in addition a French balcony facing the east and the morning sun. Both units will be equipped with climate control. Outside a private seating area with chairs and tables will be established for each unit.
