Manshausen’s old Main House has been rebuilt and renovated and is today the heart of our island community. Here you will our Restaurant and well-equipped kitchen, our second-floor Library with its amazing view, and of course our helpful staff.

You enter directly into the Restaurant, where all our meals are served. You are, however, welcome at any time, whether you want good adventure tips, to sign up for one of our many activities, or if you would just like to have a chat.

Locally-sourced food
Food is immensely important to us here at Manshausen. We do our utmost to procure first-rate locally sourced ingredients, and our chef’s approach is a delightful mix of tradition and culinary innovation. The kitchen is an integral part of our Restaurant, bringing an extra dimension as you can witness the dishes being prepared. And perhaps you caught the fish that will now be a delicious entrée!

Library and Lounge – tranquillity with a view
Upstairs are our Library and Lounge, with soft couches and chairs. The glass façade enhances the stunning view, and our binoculars are within easy reach. This is the perfect place for an aperitif or after-dinner drink, good conversation, or to just sit in silence watching the changing light.
“The bar is open…”
Well, we don’t have an actual bar of our own, but we are fully licensed. Manshausen offers wine that pairs well with our menu, locally-brewed craft beers, and an excellent selection of liqueurs and spirits. We are well-stocked to provide refreshments before dinner or evening drinks in our Library. And we’ll gladly deliver the beverages of your choice to your Sea Cabin. Cheers!

Manshausen aims to be the place where you unwind and re-energise, let your thoughts flow freely and nurture new dreams. You will find lots of inspiration in Børge’s book collection in the Library. Here is an extensive collection on the history of polar expeditions, National Geographic magazines, travel books from around the world, and a wide range of other literature.
